Usually, a river is a highlight of a city, where people can walk on hot days to enjoy the air coming off of the water. People like to congregate on bridges.
Unfortunately, Kathmandu does not have the money for proper sewage disposal, so people quickly walk by this river with a rag over their mouth and nose, pitying the poor people that live along it.
